Climbing Wall Has New Rules

Chapel Hill reopened the climbing wall at the Community Center on South Estes Drive. Open climb sessions, with limited capacity, will be offered Tuesday and Thursday 6-9 p.m. Reservations are required. No walk-up climbers. Fees are charged.

To maintain limited capacity and provide an equitable opportunity for participation, they have climbing and belaying reservations for one 75-minute session per day, no more than 7 days in advance. This means, both climbers and their intended belayer must both reserve the same session and enter and check in together.

Register online for Activity #110324 at townofchapelhill.org, or by phone 919-968-2790. The reserved session allows you and your belayer’s access to the facility itself. Patrons are asked to help by being prepared to exit the facility by the end of their time block. Each session is separated by a 30-minute disinfection period,

Payment for daily visit fees is due at the time of reservation. Climbers with either a 20-Visit or Annual climbing pass will not be charged the daily visit fee, as their pass will be applied during the reservation process. Passes will be available for purchase and renewal at the front desk only. Learn more about climbing passes at town’s climbing wall web page.
