Jordan Ranks 2nd In Attendance

Jordan Lake SRA drew 1.47 million visitors last year, second highest among N.C. state parks, but down 6 percent from the previous year after increases of 23 and 11 percent in prior years. Three snow/ice events, several rainy weekends, Hurricane Matthew contributed to the drop, according to park officials.

Overall, State Parks celebrated their 100th anniversary in 2016 and attendance increased 9 percent to 18.76 million, with six parks logging more than 1 million visitors. Umstead SP, Raleigh, was up 38 percent to 1.84M, the highest for any state park.
