Paul Miller took two firsts and a third in three Wayfarer races to win the 64th N.C. Governor’s Cup Regatta at Kerr Lake, hosted by Carolina Sailing Club. Miller of Mystic River Mudhead Sailing Association (Conn.) won the regatta’s largest division (16 boats) and was the regatta champion. There were 71 boats in ten divisions.
Top female skipper was AnnMarie Covington of Lake Townsend YC and Carolina Sailing Club, who finished second in Wayfarer with a seventh and two thirds.
Top junior skipper was Mimi Pare of RTP High School who scored a second and two firsts in 420 division (6 boats).
CSC sailors won three races—Stephen Chobot (Isotopes), Michael Van Hoy (Multi Hull) and Alan Taylor (Weta), with out of town skippers taking five. David Mobley of CSC was second in Open Monohull (Tanzer 16) and John Howell second in Thistle.
