The N.C. Triathlon Series celebrates its 20th season in 2018 with 21 events, a drop of three from last year. The series has 3 half irons, 6 internationals, 12 sprints, starts March 10 with Azalea Sprint in Wilmington and concludes Oct. 7 with Sandling Beach International at Falls Lake.
Completely gone are three events—Granite Falls Sprint in Rolesville, Kerr Lake International in Henderson, Enka Sprint at Biltmore Lake—while others underwent changes like Sandling Beach going from a 50 to an international, Cape Fear 16/sprint in Wilmington and Lake James Sprint moved from fall to spring.
White Lake has the most events with three each in spring and fall. Triangle Sprint Triathlon returns July 14 to Harris Lake in New Hill and Buckner Mission Man Sprint two weeks later in Burlington.
