Jordan Lake has 4, 8 & 12-table picnic shelters at various sites. Reservations are needed to reserve a shelter and fees are charged. All are handicap accessible. The rates are unchanged from last year.
Shelters can be reserved online at Jordan Lake website (ncstate parks.gov and click Jordan), by phone (1-877-722-6762) or in person at the park office/visitor center off US 64. Questions? Call the park office (919-362-0586).
Four-table shelters ($48 each/day) can accommodate 30 people. Two 4-table shelters are at Ebenezer, with one at Parkers Creek and include electricity and charcoal grills. Drinking water and bathrooms are nearby.
Eight-table shelters ($73 each/day) handle up to 60, have electricity, fireplace, charcoal grill. Two are at Parkers Creek and two at Vista Point and cost $73/day. No swim area for picnickers at Vista.
Twelve-table shelters ($98 each/day) can handle up to 100. They are at Ebenezer and Seaforth day use areas.
The White Oak mega shelter has 60 tables and accommodates 500. Rentals involve use of the entire area including swim beach, boat ramp, sand volleyball court, catering pad, horseshoe pits. Cost is hefty but includes entrance fees. They have 35-45 rentals a year for company picnics, events, weddings. White Oak often is open for public use when not rented on weekends, holidays.
Use of non-rented shelters is free on first-come basis. If it’s not rented it’s available to the public.
