Some 62 former ACC football players, including seven from Triangle schools, were on preliminary rosters for the eight-team UFL. The league’s third season (10 games) starts March 27. Games will be broadcast by ABC, Fox, ESPN.
Sixteen ACC schools were represented; Stanford wasn’t.
Duke had 3 former players–RB Deon Jackson (DC Defenders), CB Mark Gilbert (Orlando), CB Myles Jones (St. Louis); UNC 2–FS Myles Dorn (Dallas), T Spencer Rolland (St. Louis); NC State 2–WR Thayer Thomas (St. Louis), RB Jordan Waters (St. Louis).
Others: Clemson (8), Louisville (7), Boston College (6), Va. Tech, Wake Forest 5 each, Florida St., Georgia Tech, Miami, Virginia 4 each, Cal, Pitt 3 each, Syracuse, SMU 1 apiece.
