There were 77 former ACC players on opening day NBA rosters, headed by 24 from Duke.
The number of former UNC players dropped to six. Tar Heels are Cole Anthony (Orlando), Harrison Barnes and Harrison Ingram (San Antonio), Cameron Johnson and Day’Ron Sharpe (Brooklyn), and Coby White (Chicago).
Former ACC players are on 27 of the 30 teams (excluding NY Knicks, Oklahoma City, Sacramento). Phoenix, San Antonio, Washington have the most. Last year there were 77 ex-ACCers and 83 in 2022. The ACC added three schools this year, with 7 former players in the NBA.
Seventeen of the 18 ACC schools are represented. Virginia has 9, Florida State and NC 6 each, Wake Forest 5, Stanford 4, Louisville, Miami, Pitt 3 each, BC, Cal, Clemson, Ga. Tech, Notre Dame, Syracuse 2 each. SMU, Va. Tech one each. N.C. State is not on the list.
