The next quarterly Jordan Lake bald eagle count (State Parks) will be Sunday, July 10, 7-8:30 a.m. at Poplar Point beach.
The summer eagle update is running late, the Corps of Engineers said, due to the number of late arriving fledglings in the spring. It’s expected later in the summer.
Last year there were 24 eagle nests and 20 fledged 33 chicks, three more than the previous year.
