Chatham County has four paddle access points on the Haw River.
They are at Chicken Bridge on NC 1545 west of Carrboro, off Jones Ferry Road; US 15-501 access, 4 miles north of Pittsboro on north side of river; Bynum Beach at the intersection of Bynum Road and Bynum Beach Road off US 15-501; Highway 64 bridge access, 4 miles east of Pittsboro, just downstream of bridge.
Robeson Creek is the canoe access at Jordan Lake below the Haw River. From US 64, turn south onto Foxfire Trace, continue for .4 of a mile. Turn left onto Dee Ferrell Rd. and continue for .6 of a mile. Turn left onto Hanks Chapel Rd., continuing one mile to the canoe access entrance, or 1.2 miles to the boat ramp.
