Raleigh Beach on the Neuse River near Old Milburnie Road is now considered a dangerous recreation area due strong currents, steep drop offs. Four drownings were reported there since spring.
Authorities are trying to block or limit access to the area, well known as a canoe/kayak launch and swim area, by putting up warning signs and installing a gate.
