Duke Homestead hosts six vintage baseball games from 11 to 7 Saturday, Sep. 28, at Historic Durham Athletic Park. The Duke Homestead team will play the Statesmen (Wytheville, VA), Mountain Stars (Addison, PA) and Early Risers BBC (Detroit, MI).
Admission is $10; children under 4 years old admitted free. Game tickets can be purchased online through Eventbrite, or in person at the Duke Homestead visitor center, as well as at the gate on game day. Early-bird tickets are $5 until 9/14. It’s a fundraiser for the state historic site in Durham.
Enjoy a family-friendly day at the ballpark with “old fashioned” concessions, food, beer and historic music, uniforms. Spectators are encouraged to come dressed in historical, vintage or retro inspired outfits. Kids will get to play historic games with the costumed interpreters, as well as have a chance to run the bases in-between ball games. Free parking nearby.
