Mourning dove and white-winged dove season again will be divided into three parts: Sep. 1-Oct. 4, Nov. 8-29, Dec. 16-Jan. 31. The daily bag limit is 15.
Hunting hours are 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset. No Sunday hunting.
A current N.C. hunting license and a federal migratory bird permit specifically for doves are required in North Carolina.
Hunting safety reminders:
• Always keep the muzzle of your firearm pointed in a safe direction.
• Keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.
• Never discharge a firearm at low flying birds.
• Never place decoys on power lines.
• Check areas prior to hunting, or talk with landowners or hunt organizers to ensure the area is not baited.
• Keep bag limits separated.
