Urban archery numbers for deer taken in Chapel Hill (Orange/Durham) were the highest ever (15) in 2025. That’s 2 antlered bucks, 13 females, an increase of 14 over the previous year.
The number tied Huntersville (Mecklenburg) in WNC for second most in the state behind Shelby’s 17. Summerfield (Guilford County) was next at 10. The total for NC was 184, up from 160 in 2024.
2026 Urban Archery season dates are Jan. 10-Feb. 15 in 2026.
