The SAS Championship, part of the PGA Champions Tour, returns to Prestonwood CC, Cary, Oct. 10-12. Players on the Tour are seniors 50+. The course was flooded by a summer storm in August but is expected to be fine for the 25th championship at Prestonwood.
A new ticket special at the tournament provides a porch seat on the 18th hole, with food, snacks like bagels from 10-4 daily. There’s also an HBCU Invitational tournament on another course at Prestonwood, Food Truck Friday, free daily tickets for military and first responders, Saturday morning 5K road race.
Jerry Kelly is the defending champion. Purse is $2.1M.
