Pitt Ends UNC Hockey Season

Pitt drilled UNC 6-2 to end the UNC hockey season at ACCHL playoffs in New­ark, Del. Pitt took  a 2-1 lead after one and 4-1 after two. Patrick Kambo and Patrick O’Shaugh­nessy, the team’s leading scorer with 17 points in regular season. scored for Car­olina who finished 7-15-1-1. They were seventh in the MD2 regular session. Va. Tech won the league by one point over N.C. State.

Earlier, winter storms disrupted the Feb. schedule. UNC topped Lehigh 4-2 on the road. The second game was cancelled. NC State downed Carolina 4-0 in Morrisville on Senior Night for both clubs. It was State’s fourth win over the Heels in five games this season. Earlier games against Cincinnati, Ore­gon, Louisville were canceled.
