The Garmin Marathon Series made its inaugural stop in Durham with four races, 5,273 finishers. Their races celebrate M/F overall and age group winners only, instead of the top three across the board because they give Garmin products to the winners. Hometowns were not provided.

5K (1106 finishers, WTs 15:04, 16:55) fast times with seven finishers under 17 minutes, John Tatter, Chapel Hill, first 25-29 and second overall, 15:15.
