NCWRC invites the public to comment on a proposal that would change a 711-acre tract in the northern portion of the Butner-Falls of Neuse Game Land from general game land to archery zone.
A public input meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at the Butner Town Hall, 415 Central Ave. NCWRC staff will accept public comments and answer questions during the meeting. No registration required.
The property is owned by the N.C. Dept. of Agriculture. The change reflects an increase in farm operations and expansion of the department’s adjacent Umstead Beef Unit Research Station. The archery zone designation limits hunting to archery equipment and falconry only.
