Groman Second At College Nationals

Adrian Groman, 3:23:39, UNC Cycling, finished second in the road race at the USA Cycling Collegiate Road Nationals in Madison, WI. WT was 3:21:22 (84 finishers).

His teammates: Owen Cole, UNC Cycling, 9, 3:28:53, +7.31; Will Swofford, UNC Cycling, 39, 3:31:41, +10.18; Cadence Stephens, 80, 3:42:00, +20.56.

In the criterium (89 riders), Stephens, 11, 1:18:32. WT was 1:18:32. Groman, 21, 1:18:32, +0; Swofford, 70, 1:20:56, +2.23; Cole, 71, 1:20:56, +2:23.

UNC Cycling was first in the team time trial (CSN, May 2026), and was 15 overall among 72 teams in omnium points (76) for the season. They earned 36 points in CX and 40 in road race, but none in track or MTB. The leader had 226.

SN will make some format changes for the next edition in July to reduce the editor’s workload. The paper will continue with a monthly feature (like Way Too Early ACC Hoops next month), road and bike race results, local league updates and rec news. The idea is to reduce the number of pages and the amount of content so he can take some time off and travel. Many of CSN’s former writers have already retired.
