UNC Ultimate Struggles At Nationals

UNC ultimate teams had a tough time at the D-1 college championships in Rockford, Ill. UNC men (Darkside), the number four seed, went 1-3 in pool play, topped Texas 15-9 for 13th place (20 teams).

Noah Bush (10 goals) was the UNC scoring leader and Josh Singleton had 16 assists, Matthew Barcellos 14. UMass beat Carleton College 15-11 for the championship.

UNC women (Pleiades), the seven seed, went 3-1 in pool play, lost to Oregon 15-14 in prequarters and finished tied for ninth. Lead­ing UNC scorer was Jia Zhoran (10). Bel­la Russell had 20 assists. Carleton College beat British Columbia 15-13 for the title.
