Owen Cole (39:34) of Chapel Hill (Team Winston-Salem-Flow) took second in the U-23 Individual Time Trial at the USA Cycling pro road nationals in Charleston, WV. WT was 39:30 (31 finishers). Cole is a UNC student studying exercise and sports science. Cole’s teammate Nathaniel Gervez (41:20) was 15th.
Cole finished fifth in the U23 Road Championship four days later. His time was 3:14:42, 9 seconds behind the winner and in a four-way tie for the 7 laps. His fastest lap was 19:23, slowest 30:50. Gervez (2:50:04) was 24th and down 1 lap.
