Thistle skipper Sara Paisner of Chapel Hill (Carolina Sailing Club) was the top female skipper at 69th N.C. Governor’s Cup Regatta (51 boats, 9 divisions) at Kerr Lake, Henderson. She finished third in the division with 19 points in five races including a first and a second.
Gunnison Griffin of Ogeechee River Sailing Club was the overall champion in a Thistle with 10 points (a first, three seconds and a third). Title goes to the winner of the largest class of boats for the regatta. There were 11 boats in the Thistle division. Second largest was Isotope (9).
