Strayhorn, Arrogance To N.C. Hall Of Fame

Hillsborough jazz legend Billy Strayhorn and 1970s indie rock band Arrogance of Chapel Hill will be inducted into the N.C. Music Hall of Fame in Mooreville Oct. 15, along with record company executive Barry Poss of Durham, George Clinton of Kannapolis, McSha-Rock of Wilmington, Gregory “Sugar Bear” Elliott of Red Springs.

Arrogance, a band founded in a UNC dorm, was the starting point for well-regarded record producer and musician Don Dixon.
