Tennis Courts Get New Lights

New lights were installed this month at the Anderson Park tennis courts off Highway 54 West, Carrboro.

As part of Carrboro Recreation, Parks and Cultural Resources’ Sustainable Infrastructure Lights Capital Improvement Project, this installation was part of a multi-year project to upgrade athletic facility lighting to modern LED technology, improving visibility and user safety, increasing system reliability and substantially reducing energy consumption.

The Anderson Park Tennis Courts were selected as the starting point because the facility was without lights. This addition allows for pickleball and tennis play outside of daylight hours at town’s largest park. Court reservations are available at carrboronc.gov.
