ACC Tripped Up In Post Season

The postseason was unkind to the ACC. They sent eight men’s teams to the NCAAs (March 2026), but only Duke advanced to the second weekend. They had two teams in the NIT but Cal and Wake didn’t last long.

The ACC sent nine women’s teams to the NCAAs but the top teams, Duke, Notre Dame, Louisville lost in Elite 8 and UNC, NC State, Virginia (who was in the First Four) bowed out in the Sweet 16. One ACC team played in the women’s NIT.

North Carolina men finished the season 32 in KenPom (37 in offensive efficiency, 37 defensive), according to final season stats. Duke was 3, Louisville 19, Virginia 17, Mi­ami 30, NC State 36. Others: Clemson 39, SMU 49, Va. Tech 59, FSU 61, Stanford 62, Cal 79, Wake Forest 81, Syracuse 87, Notre Dame 93, Pitt 99,  Boston College 109, Ga. Tech 169.

New hoops coaches will be in place next year at Boston College, Ga. Tech, Syracuse, N.C. State, UNC.
