Bull Moon 5K, a summer twilight race in Durham, is not happening this year, organizers said.
Durham Bulls increased their price to use the stadium concourse (and host the event) from $500 to $5,000 and it is not economically viable, said race director Bruce Bokish of Precision Race, adding “that’s a shame.”
Last year’s race and block party raised money for MS Events, The National Multiple Sclerosis Society, ALS United North Carolina and the fight against neurological diseases. Previous races supported Habitat for Humanity and included a bike ride that was discontinued last year.
