African American Dance Ensemble presents 39th Kwanzaa Celebration of dance and music Jan. 1, 2025 at The Armory in downtown Durham. Doors open at 12 noon with a program 2-6 p.m. Admission is free with a ticket from eventbrite.com and donation of canned goods and toiletries.

Durham Craft Market Holiday Market takes place Dec. 15 10-4 at Durham Central Park, downtown Durham.

Pet fans can see either the 2024/25 NY Cat or Dog Festival Films at the Carolina Theater starting Dec. 13. They are separate festivals.

The 69th NAIA football championship will be played Saturday, Dec. 21, at 12 noon at Durham County Memorial Stadium. Details TBA, with preliminary games played on college campuses. Tickets are $30 at the gate. It’s the fourth time the championship was held in Durham.

The Solstice Lantern Walk/Market starts Saturday, Dec. 21, at 5 p.m. at Eno River Farmers’ Market Pavilion in Hills­borough and runs till 8 p.m.

The Carolina Inn Holiday Market, Chapel Hill, will be  held Dec. 15 12-4 on the lawn, while the Really Super Local Holiday Art Show continues through Dec. 21 at Eno Arts Gallery, Hillsborough.
