C&R Outdoor of Hillsborough returns to running weekday ski bus trips to Wintergreen (VA) or Winterplace (WVA) starting Jan. 9. The trips were shut down years ago by Covid. The trip destination will be determined by whichever resort has the most snow. Trips are Thursday-only when crowds are smaller and traffic less than weekends; full payment required in advance to sign up.
Nine weekly trips are planned through March 6. Cost is $149/person for Standard trip (bus transport, lift ticket) or Plus ($174 (standard plus ski/snowboard gear rental). For the trip, meet at C&R at 5 a.m., leave at 5:30 (no refund if late), return 8-9 p.m. that night after stopping for dinner. Skiers bring their own gloves, helmets, ski jackets, etc. Fittings for ski rentals must be done at the store by Wednesday before the trip.
