2A Girls—#17 Northwood lost to #16 SW Edgecombe. #2 Seaforth def, #31 Spring Creek 73-25, #18 Clinton 70-16, #23 Hertford 74-31, #3 East Duplin 53-32, before losing to #12 SE Alamance 48-45 in the East Regional final in Winston-Salem. Halftime was 24-23 in SE Alamance’s favor. Katie Leonard scored 14 points, Mia Moore 11, Gabby White 10 for Seaforth who finished 28-3. It was the fourth time they’ve played this season; they’re both in the Mid-Carolina 1A/2A Conference where they split in the regular season with Seaforth winning the conference tournament championship.

2A Boys—#24 Seaforth def. #9 Franklin Academy 62-45 before losing to #8 Eastern Wayne 68-47. #3 Northwood def. #30 Camden County 60-25, #14 SW Edgecombe 50-43, #6 South Granville 65-43, #2 SW Onslow 59-44, #4 West Bladen 57-38 in the East Regional final in Winston-Salem behind 21 points from Cam Fowler and 12 from Isaiah Blair. Halftime was 24-21 before Chargers outscored WB 33-17 in the second half. Top-seeded Reidsville won its 60th straight game, downing Northwood 71-54 for the 2A championship. They are 86-1 in the last three seasons. Reidsville led 23-20 at half and took control 21-10 in the third quarter. Fowler had 27 points, Beau Harvey 13 for the Chargers. It was the sixth championship game without a win for Northwood who finished with a 30-3 record.
