The Homestead Aquatic Center in Chapel Hill is closed until early March for major repairs.
City officials said HVAC equipment is at the end of its life and being replaced along with two pool dehumidifiers and associated duct work, as well as two roof units. Project cost is $1.2 million from ARPA.
During the closure other items that are usually addressed during annual maintenance will be serviced.
In addition to the Community Center, city pool passes are honored at Orange County Sportsplex, Hillsborough, and Chapel Hill/ Carrboro YMCA.
