Carrboro Town Council voted to reduce the speed limit from 45 to 35 miles per hour for a short section of Homestead Road near Stratford Drive within Carrboro town limits.
This was the first step in the process to establish a 35 mile per hour speed limit for the entire Homestead Road corridor, a state-maintained road. Road resurfacing under way this summer includes changes to reduce vehicle speeds and improve infrastructure for cyclists.
