Hornets Play In Greensboro

The Spectrum Center in Charlotte, home to the NBA Charlotte Hornets, is wrapping up renovations and their two pre-season home games will be played elsewhere. One will be Oct. 15 in Greensboro (First Horizon Coli­seum) against Memphis at 7 p.m., hornets.com for tickets.

The home opener is Oct. 22 in Charlotte against Brooklyn at 7. A group of Chatham County residents supporting Brooklyn Net and former UNC player Drake Powell is ex­pected for Powell’s first home game.

Charlotte has three national TV broadcasts this season: two against Cleveland and one against San Antonio. The first is Dec. 22 in Charlotte against the Cavaliers (Peacock). Despite an improved roster, they don’t play on Christmas Day. They’ve never had  a Christ­mas TV game.
