International soccer returns to Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill Tuesday, June 10, at 8:30 p.m. for a friendly between Mexican and Turkish national teams. It marks the third straight summer of top-shelf international soccer here and will be played on the newly-installed permanent grass field.
FIFA World Cup records of the two countries: Mexico 17-15-28, Turkey 5-1-4.
Tickets are available for $70-$224 each at goheels.revenue.net/events/MXT or somolocales.com. This is the second game of the Mextour. The first stop is June 7 against Switzerland in Salt Lake City. Turkey plays USMNT June 7 in West Hartford, Conn.
Previous summer soccer exhibitions drew good crowds at Kenan though Manchester City/Celtic last year was smaller than Chelsea/Wrexham in 2023.
The Chapel Hill game will be broadcast live on the TelevisaUnivision family of networks, Fox Deportes (in English) and the Univision Radio Network.
