Lobanov Third In Beer Mile

Alexander Lobanov (6:10:35) of Carrboro was third male at the 5th Beer City Mile in Durham (101 finishers, 115 last year). WTs were 5:53.89 and 6:10.35 for the 1m novelty run.

Avery Freeman, Chapel Hill, was second 21-29, 13:57.

The U.S. opener is June 12 at 9 p.m. in California. Game 2 June 19 against Australia in Seattle and game 3 against Turkey. June 25 in Los Angeles.
