The NASCAR schedule for 2026 is expanding here with April events at Rockingham Speedway (AKA The Rock) in Richmond County. Rockingham will host the April 3 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race (200 laps), April 4 ARCA Menards Series East Race. (it’s Easter weekend) and April 11 O’Reilly Auto Parts 200 lap night race. The track was purchased recently by International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) which plans to increase auto races and entertainment shows. Previous owners made improvements and investments to upgrade the track and spark the new events.
Other Tar Heel NASCAR races: Feb. 1, Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium, Winston-Salem (8 p.m., 200 laps); May 24, Coca Cola 600 (5 p.m.. 400 laps), Charlotte Motor Speedway; Oct. 11, BOA Roval 400 (109 laps), Charlotte.
Additional N.C. truck race dates are May 22, N.C. Education Lottery, 200 laps at Charlotte; July 18 at North Wilkesboro; Oct. 9 at Charlotte.
