Pinehurst No. 2, the site for the U.S. Open in June, continued atop the 2024 ratings of North Carolina top 100 golf courses by the N.C. Golf Panel. Grandfather Golf & Country Club in Linville was second and the Country Club of North Carolina (Dogwood), Pinehurst, was third.
Old Chatham GC of Durham moved from 17 to 10 and was the top local course. Other Triangle courses with impressive rankings were Raleigh Country Club (17), MacGregor Downs, Cary (19), Governors Club, Chapel Hill (26), Prestonwood CC, Cary (Highlands) (28), Treyburn CC, Durham (35), Finley GC, Chapel Hill (47), Lonnie Poole GC, Raleigh (52).
Also, Hasentree Club, Wake Forest (54), Duke University GC, Durham (56), Hope Valley CC, Durham (63), Carolina Country Club, Raleigh (65). The rankings are published annually in the April issue of Business North Carolina.
