Elizabeth Cotten Freight Train Blues Concert Series returns for 12th season May 15 with five Friday shows 6;30-8:30 p.m. at the Carrboro Town Commons. Food and beverages for sale. Series co-sponsored by the town of Carrboro and Music Maker Foundation. Free.
Bynum Front Porch Friday Night Music runs May through August, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the former general store in Bynum. All genres of music are featured and the hat is passed for contributions. Shows move inside in case of rain.
Arts on East, a Wednesday series at 7 p.m. on Duke East Campus, features local groups each curated by a Durham cultural outfit. Series runs May 27-June 24. Third year. Free.
