Sara Paisner of Carolina Sailing Club was named top female skipper at the 66th N.C. Governors Cup Regatta at Kerr Lake. She was fourth in the Thistle fleet (15 boats) with 29 points including third and fourth place finishes in five races. Her crew were Howard and Ella Mendiovitz.
The Governors Cup winner was Mark Gise of Lake Norman Yacht Club who had three firsts and two seconds in Thistle. Top junior skipper was Mimi Pare in a 420 from the RTP High School team. There were about 70 boats in nine divisions in races organized by the host Carolina Sailing Club.
