Returning Riders Spark NICA Wins

Returning area riders posted strong re­sults at North Carolina’s first NICA (Nation­al Interscholastic Cycling Association) race in Salisbury. There were 542 riders in 18 divisions. Four more weekend races are scheduled for middle and high school MTB riders in the spring season.

Points are awarded to schools for team finishers in each race. CC Chaos and composite teams combine riders from different schools on a single team. First place is worth 400 points.

Baum, Prochzka, Hastings, West, Jensen were among returnees from last season and some did cyclocross races in the fall.
