Rock The Hill 37 Award Winners

Four Chapel Hill climbers were division winners at Webster’s Rock the Hill 37 indoor climbing, “The Last Rodeo,” in Chapel Hill. There were 114 climbers, down from 160 last year, using 42 different route combinations for the   final event on the Community Center climbing wall before it gets replaced. Over $20,000 worth of donations and prizes were awarded.

Recreation Female—first, Karen Tan, Ral­eigh, second, Kate Thacker of Mountain Goat Climbing Team, third,  Abby Weaver,  Raleigh; Recreation Male, first, Hunter Roberts, Dur­ham, second, Nikhill Kaza, Chapel Hill, third,  Brandon Smith, Carrboro.

Intermediate Female—first, Rosie Maloney Carrboro, second, Maya Gadde, Durham, third, Theresa D’Aquila,  Chapel Hill; Intermediate Male, first, Jimmy Kempter of Mountain Goat Climbing Team, second, Finn Tyrell,   Mebane, third, Hayden,  Chapel Hill.
