Matthew Howe (2:46:46) was the fastest Chapel Hill runner at 53rd NYC Marathon (55, 525 finishers) where he finished 786. Fastest N.C. runner: Ryan Ford, Boone, 2:11:08, 11th overall.

Jillian Daly (26:55) of Chapel Hill was third 20-29 at Beaufort Bridge Run 5K (222 finishers). WT was 17:35.

Jaynie Hamilton (31:12) of Mebane was second 30-39 at Veterans Run for the Brave 5K in  Benson (88). WT was 25:41.

WTs for the Peanut Butter Jelly Jog 5K in Graham were 19:17 and 19:53 (143 finishers). Sara Flynn-Loy (20:46) of Meb­ane was second woman.

Maureen Tarquini (31:02) of Chapel Hill was first 60-64 at Triangle Trick or Trot 5K in Cary (108 finishers). WT was 21:29.

Silas Wildeman, Chapel Hill, was first 15&U, 23:05, at Day of the Dead 5K in Raleigh (566). WT was 14:46.

David Hardy of Carrboro was second 60-69, 1:46:02, at Ironclad HM (344) in Kinston. WT was 1:18:11.

David Montefiori of  Hillsborough was first 60+, 46:14, at 17th Medoc Trail 5 Miler in Hollister (214). WT was 33:31.

India Rice of Hillsborough was first 50-54, 49:52, at Stars Stripes and Strides 5K in Cay (111 finishers). WT was 22:28.

Valerie Murrah of Chapel Hill was first 70+, 1:30:54, in the Trail To Tryon 10K (105).

The three Crazy Toes races in Raleigh Nov. 2 were canceled.

The WRD Run for Refugees at Duke’s East Campus had 116 finishers. WTs were 18:38 and 21:15.
