Why are community centers in Chapel Hill closed on Snow Days?
City Communications Manager Alex Carrasquillo replied, “Serious safety concerns keep us from opening the Community Center or Hargraves during snow/ice storms. During and just after these storms, we encourage folks to stay home and off the roads due to dangerous travel conditions. This includes staff who would have to drive in to operate these facilities.”
