GSK honors 20 non-profits in Philadelphia and Durham with Impact Awards annually for their work to improve health through innovation, leadership, collaboration and measurable impact.
Ten Durham-based recipients were selected for 2025 including Swim for Charlie which works to reduce youth drownings by teaching second graders in Durham/Orange schools water safety skills, and the Eno River Association which conserves and protects the Eno River. Each winner received $50,000 in unrestricted funding to use as it wants.
Other local winners for the 28th annual awards, administered by Triangle Community Foundation, included Diaper Bank of NC, Durham Children’s Initiative, NC Equal Access for Justice Foundation, Stand Up Speak Out for NC. GSK is GlaxoSmithKline, an international pharmaceutical company based in London with office/researchers in Durham.
