Audrey Williams of Cary repeated as women’s open champion with her sister Lauren second at Webster’s Rock the Hill 36 indoor climbing competition in Chapel Hill. Men’s open winner was Alex Rayburg of Chapel Hill. There were 160 climbers, up from 128 last year, the most in years.
Andrew Kwong was second male and Bryce Yang third, Bri Saunders third female.
Preliminary climbs were held earlier with the finals March 2 for the oldest indoor top rope climbing competition in the country. More than $13,000 in prizes were awarded.
